Celebrating our Queer Community
Crooked Images with Queer & Diverse Pathways Calendar
Crooked Images in collaboration with Stacie Mei Duffeild - CEO & Founder of Queer & Diverse Pathways (and one of our beautiful 2025 Model Call clients) - are producing the first annual Queer & Diverse Calendar. The calendar will be a celebration of our community, giving the participants and all viewers the chance to see themselves as pure beautiful works of art.
To participate, you will need to apply below by filling out the linked form, you will then have a boudoir photoshoot at the Crooked Images studio in East Perth. Once completed the calendar will be available to purchase to give back to our community.
The aim of this project is to show how all queer bodies are beautiful in a “Calendar Girls” kind of way, and in doing so change the way we perceive bodies that are different to what we have been conditioned to understand.
Lauren Crooke Trans Women Project
Additionally to the calendar, Founder of Crooked Images and Artist Lauren Crooke has been working on a concept for a powerful visual art project exclusively for trans women that she is ready to bring to life. This project has two connected parts; an in-studio interview to camera, and an out of studio creative group photoshoot and video. We'd love to know what feels right for you and what you’d like to be part of. There's no pressure to say yes to everything, and we may not be able to guarantee spots in either project depending on the volume of applications. However we will do everything we can to include as many as possible.

We would love to hear about you and your journey in your body as a queer person. We receive a large volume of applicants and will get back to everyone as soon as we can. If you wanted to follow up your application, you’re welcome to send us an e-mail (bookings@crookedimages.com.au) after 7 days of applying and we can check on that for you. We will be calling all successful applicants.

As part of our Calendar Project , you’ll receive our luxury boudoir experience (valued at $550)
A $100 deposit is required to secure your shoot, this deposit can go towards your image purchases or is refundable either at your viewing.

We welcome all queer and gender diverse pals to apply. People who are ready to not only step in front of the camera but also share a piece of their story. We wholehearted believe that your story matters and someone out there needs to hear it.
We invite all races, body types, ages from 18+, disabilities and backgrounds, making sure all are heard, seen and represented in our shared mission to self-compassion and body neutrality.

So while we don’t allowed nominations, we do suggest that you to send the details to your friend and encourage them to apply.

Images that we use are only the ones you have selected as your favourites during your viewing.
Regarding the option of going nude in your pre-shoot questionnaire you will be able to select from one of the following options:
Put me out there Loud and Proud
No Nudes!
This means that if you choose to go nude during your shoot but don’t want us to use those images, we won’t.

This is your story, and there’s no “right” way to tell it.
Your experience matters and you never know who might see themselves in your words

Images aren’t included upfront; you’ll have a viewing after your shoot where you can select and purchase your favourite photographs/collections.
During your pre-shoot consultation we run through the exclusive collections we will be offering to our calendar project clients. Our collections start from $2,600 and most clients on average spend between $3,000-$4,000.
For your images you can also you alternative payment options such as Zip, Afterpay & TLC loan.

The choice on what you want to wear and if you want to go nude is entirely yours!
You absolutely can choose your own wardrobe, you will be able to wear up to 2 outfits (plus the option to go nude) in the shoot.
You will also have access to our client closet, which has lingerie in various sizes, accessories and luxury robes

Consent around the use of your images is incredibly important to us. You always have the option to change your mind about whether or not you'd like your images and story to be shared.
Because this shoot has been discounted in exchange for the use of your images on our socials, we simply ask that if you do change your mind, you pay the remaining balance of the shoot ($450). We’ll also get you to fill out an updated model release form to remove the initial consent. However for the calendar once production is started the socials consent won’t be able to be changed.

We hear this one from time to time, and honestly it's totally valid. You might have seen us share stories from people who’ve overcome unimaginable things or images of folks from marginalised communities, and maybe a little voice in your head says, “They won’t pick me… I haven’t been through something like that.”
But here’s the thing: your story doesn’t have to be dramatic or traumatic to matter. You don’t need to tick a certain box or have lived through something specific to be worthy of being seen, celebrated, and captured. Whether you’re navigating a quiet shift in self-love, learning to take up space or simply feel like this callout stirred something in you, that is enough.
If this Calendar Project is tugging at your heart or piquing your curiosity, that’s your sign. We truly believe every person has a story worth sharing, and we would love to hear yours.

We do our best to leave stories untouched, because we want your words to feel authentic and true to you. Whether you write a few paragraphs or share your whole journey, we’re honoured to receive whatever you feel comfortable giving.
That said, there are a few situations where we may need to make small edits. Some words (particularly those related to gendered violence) can get flagged by social media platforms, so we might need to reword or remove certain terms to protect our account from being restricted.
We’re also putting more care this year into avoiding fatphobic language and shifting toward more body-neutral wording. You might not think saying something like “I lost/weighed X kilos” is fatphobic and we totally get that. But we’ve found that even well-meaning comments around weight can be really triggering for others, and may unintentionally reinforce the harmful idea that smaller equals better.
So if we do need to tweak anything, it’s never to erase your story, it’s to make sure we’re sharing it in a way that’s safe, inclusive, and kind to everyone who might read it
