Jasmine will tell you she’s “not one of those pretty women,” but spend five minutes with her and you’ll make it your life mission to make her see otherwise. She is heavenly beautiful, but most importantly, she is real. A mum raising three little ones, two with extra needs. The friend who comes out of her shell and has everyone in stitches. The woman who wears her heart on her sleeve and will call out a bully in a heartbeat (GET IT GIRL).

Being bullied from childhood through high school leaves marks that don’t fade easily. The impact of which can stay so deeply rooted in your perception of self without even realising it. For Jasmine, it meant shrinking parts of herself, hiding clothes she longed to wear, biting back the urge to show up fully in case the world had something cruel to say. She’s 31 now and admits she still wrestles with that voice, still feels the weight of every nasty comment she’s ever absorbed. She says life is tough and that the smallest words can break someone.

That’s what makes Jasmine extraordinary: she hasn’t let that stop her from showing up.

In the studio, we saw her spark light up. She was quiet at first, not knowing how she’d settle in, but soon laughing, softening, feeling comfortable with our team and letting herself feel good in her body.

Hearing her talk about the example she wants to be for her children, to re-write the language that existed around her when she was growing up, and to make sure she, and her kids, never feel like their body is anything less than worthy, respected, and spectacular. We shared a tear and so many laughs and I could’ve listened to her for hours.

How lucky we are to get to meet such wonderful people here and time and time again see proof that sometimes everyone just needs to be reminded that they’re still in there.
